Marello, Guzman among AAC baseball postseason honorees
Brandon Marello and Anthony Guzman earned Appalachian Athletic Conference postseason honors after leading Milligan University to a successful season. Marello earned two spots on the All-AAC second team list, one as a pitcher and one at second base, while Guzman earned a spot on the second team list among the outfielders.

After rallying in the final inning to force extras, Anthony Guzman tripled and Justin Greene sent him home on a walk-off single in the bottom of the eighth to send Milligan University to a 4-3 win over Union Friday in the second game of the series.

Brandon Marello pitched seven masterful innings before scoring the walk-off winning run Saturday to help the Milligan University baseball team beat top-ranked Tennessee Wesleyan 2-1 in the finale of a three-game Appalachian Athletic Conference set. Milligan had a late spark but lost game one of Saturday’s doubleheader 15-7.

After a quiet first game, the Milligan University baseball team’s bats came to life in the second game to help the Buffaloes split a doubleheader with St. Andrews Saturday afternoon at TVA Credit Union Ballpark. St. Andrews won the first game 6-3 before Milligan won the second game 9-3.

The offensive firepower continued for the Milligan University baseball team Sunday in a 15-5 run-ruled victory over Kentucky Christian. With the win, the Buffaloes completed the sweep of the Appalachian Athletic Conference series and improved to 14-9 (6-3 AAC).

Brock Browning struck out 10 in a strong pitching performance of game one and the rest of the story was on the offensive end as the Milligan University baseball team put on a clinic with 25 hits in two easy wins over Kentucky Christian University Saturday at TVA Credit Union Ballpark.

Buffs drop Bluefield series 5-4 in finale
A big come-from-behind win in the middle game of the series looked to give the Milligan University baseball team momentum heading into the finale, but the Buffaloes narrowly lost game three of its series against Bluefield to drop the series 2-1. Milligan lost game one 10-2, won game two 10-8, then lost game three 5-4.
