JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 2, 2021) – The Milligan University baseball team dropped game one of a three-game Appalachian Athletic Conference series against No. 1 Tennessee Wesleyan, 9-1, Friday evening at TVA Credit Union Ballpark.
Tennessee Wesleyan got on the board first with two unearned runs in the top of the first before adding two more in the second and three in the fourth. The Bulldogs led 8-0 when Milligan was able to get on the board on a Kirby Smith one-out double in the seventh.
Smith finished 1-for-4 as one of six Buffs to register a hit. Brandon Marello led the way going 2-for-4 with two singles.
Milligan and Tennessee Wesleyan will finish the series Saturday with a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
