Buffs drop rubber game to Union
The Milligan University baseball team was held quiet in the rubber game against Union Saturday at Joe O’Brien Field, falling 8-1. After Friday night’s split doubleheader, Union took the series two games to one.

ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. (April 17, 2021) – The Milligan University baseball team was held quiet in the rubber game against Union Saturday at Joe O'Brien Field, falling 8-1. After Friday night's split doubleheader, Union took the series two games to one.
Union took the early lead with a single run in the third before posting its one big inning with four runs in the fifth. Milligan got one of those runs back with a run in the bottom of the seventh on a sacrifice fly from Casey Haire, but the Bulldogs added back to the lead with a run in the eighth and two in the ninth.
The loss dropped Milligan to 24-19 (12-11 Appalachian Athletic Conference).
Up next, Milligan hosts Pikeville in a midweek nonconference game on Wednesday before heading to Reinhardt for a three-game AAC set next weekend.
