JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 30, 2021) – Five Buffaloes produced multiple hits, including Chancery Hall and Robert Salcedo who each had three hits, and Milligan University's baseball team ran away with another big win over Johnson University, 22-8, Tuesday afternoon at TVA Credit Union Ballpark.
Hall went 3-for-6 with four runs and three RBI's while Salcedo went 3-for-4 with a run. Casey Haire had one of the biggest swings of the game with a grand slam in the third to help him finish with a Milligan record-tying seven RBI's.
Buffs all about big innings in big win
The Buffs came to bat six times and tallied a big inning in four of those six frames. It started with a five-run first highlighted by an Augustus Fraley two-RBI double to deep left. Haire then capped an eight-hit, eight-run third inning with his grand slam, after Anthony Guzman, Hall, Braden Spano, and Justin Greene also hit RBI singles in the inning.
Hall later went deep in the fourth as part of a three-run frame, and the Buffs rounded out their scoring with six runs in the fifth. Greene hit a two-RBI single in that inning before the Buffs pushed four more runs across on two errors and three walks.
Pitchers Garrett Wilkins and Josiah Carrier had the most success on the mound, combining for two scoreless innings in the sixth and seventh. Wilkins finished off his perfect inning with a punchout before Carrier struck out two in the final inning.
