  • Cundiff’s hat trick propels Milligan past Brenau
    October 19, 2019
    Senior Bekah Cundiff recorded her first hat trick of the season, and the Milligan College women’s soccer team defeated Appalachian Athletic Conference member Brenau University 4-2 Saturday afternoon at Anglin Field. With today’s win, the Buffs advance to 8-2-1 in conference and are tied in third place with Reinhardt.

    The Milligan College women’s soccer team defeated Columbia International University Wednesday night 3-1 to improve their record to 7-2-1 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference. The Buffs have yet to lose a road game this season with their record on the road being 4-0-1.
  • Four Buffs recognized with AAC weekly honor

    Roberto Fernandez Garrido and Jan Kuepper helped Milligan College sweep the Appalachian Athletic Conference men’s soccer weekly award while Ashlen Burch of the Milligan women’s soccer team and Kellee Geren of the volleyball team also were recognized.

    Six members of the Milligan College women’s soccer team found the back of the net Saturday night as the Buffs defeated Appalachian Athletic Conference member Bluefield 7-1 at Anglin Field.

    The Milligan College women’s soccer team outshot Montreat 19 to six and defeated the Cavaliers 2-1 Saturday afternoon in Black Mountain.

    The Milligan College women’s soccer team was the first Appalachian Athletic Conference team this season to score on Truett McConnell Wednesday night, but it was not enough for the Buffs to win as they fell to the Bears 3-1 at Anglin Field.

    The Milligan College women’s soccer team played Reinhardt University Saturday night and went over regulation time into two 10-minute overtimes, but a winner was unable to be determined and the match ended in a 1-1 tie.

    The start of the school year means that soccer is back in action, and the Milligan College women’s team will open the season Thursday, Aug. 29, with a home match against North Greenville at Anglin Field. Milligan looks to be a top contender in the Appalachian Athletic Conference this year, with the preseason poll putting them in fourth out of 14 teams.
  • Buckley sharing her coaching values in Germany

    For the second year in a row, Milligan College women’s soccer head coach Lisa Buckley spent a portion of her summer coaching soccer in Europe. This summer she was able to continue working with the group she worked with last year, PROEM ministries, in Poland, before traveling to Oberursel, Germany, to be the head coach of a soccer camp there.
  • 12 Milligan teams earn NAIA scholar award

    The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced Monday that 12 Milligan teams earned the distinction for Scholar-Teams for the 2018-19 academic year. These 12 teams were among 1,939 total teams across the NAIA recognized with this award.
