Women’s soccer season ends in AAC tournament
The Milligan College women’s soccer team was defeated in the semifinal round of the Appalachian Athletic Conference tournament 3-1 Saturday, Nov. 9, by the AAC regular season champions Truett McConnell.
CLEVELAND, Ga. (Nov. 9, 2019) – The Milligan College women's soccer team was defeated in the semifinal round of the Appalachian Athletic Conference tournament 3-1 Saturday, Nov. 9, by the AAC regular season champions Truett McConnell.
Truett got an early lead in the first half with back to back goals by Jessica Lanier in the 18th and 20th minutes. The Buffs were able to cut the lead in half with a goal by Taylor Dawson off of a free kick with a minute left in the first half.
That was all the scoring that the Bears would allow as they added another goal onto their lead and silenced the Buffs for the rest of the game.
With Saturday's loss, which snapped a seven game winning streak for Milligan, the Buffs finished their season fourth in conference with an overall record of 11-5-1 (10-2-1).
