MILLIGAN, Tenn. (March 16, 2022) – The Milligan University flag football team notched its first win of the season as the Buffs split an afternoon doubleheader against Cottey on Wednesday afternoon at Anglin Field. The Buffs triumphed 7-6 in the opening game and fell 26-12 in game two.

BABSON PARK, Fla. (March 11, 2022) – The Milligan University flag football team opened its second season matchups against Webber International, Warner and Thomas on Friday and Saturday at Webber International. The Buffs fell to Webber 42-12 and to Warner 72-0 on Friday. In Saturday’s games, Milligan lost to Webber 47-0 and No. 2 Thomas 59-0.

MILLIGAN, Tenn. (January 13, 2022) – Milligan University Director of Athletics Christian Pope has announced Lauren Gullett as interim head coach of Milligan’s emerging women’s flag football team for the 2022 season.

Elizabeth Burns became the first Buffalo to score a touchdown last weekend in the Milligan University women’s flag football team’s doubleheader at Xavier University of Louisiana. It came in the first quarter of the first game and marked the first-ever points for the first-year Milligan program.

The Milligan University women’s flag football team began its first season Saturday at Ottawa University.

Ava Sorrentino is the first signee for Milligan University’s newly established women’s flag football program. Sorrentino signed her letter of intent Sunday at Steve Lacy Fieldhouse.

Milligan University has hired Rachel Sianez to serve as head coach of its recently announced women’s flag football program. Sianez, who goes by Coach Mac in reference to her middle name, is a graduate of Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas, and comes most recently from Las Vegas, Nevada.

Milligan University Vice President for Athletics and Student Development Mark Fox announced Wednesday that the University has received a grant from the National Football League (NFL) which will help fund the start-up of a women’s flag football program beginning spring 2021. Milligan is one of the first National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) schools to declare their intent to participate in this emerging sport.
