Milligan scored its first touchdown of the season in the second quarter when Brooke Housley connected with Bethany Stephens for six points. Ava Sorrentino notched her first touchdown of the year with a rushing score from close range in the season opener against Webber International.
On Saturday, Housley, Maddie Manear, Sorrentino and Blakelee Ollis each recorded an interception. The Buffs converted a pair late fourth downs against nationally-ranked Thomas but ran out of time on their final drive.
Milligan falls to 0-4 after its opening weekend. The Buffs host Cottey at Anglin Field for a doubleheader on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m.
