No. 14 Buffs runner-up at Agnes McAmis Memorial Invite
Alayna Perryman and Emma Brown earned spots on the all-tournament team to lead the No. 14 Milligan University women’s golf team to a runner-up finish behind host Tusculum at the Agnes McAmis Memorial Invitational. The event took place Monday and Tuesday at Graysburg Hills Golf Club.
CHUCKEY, TENN. (March 23, 2021) – Alayna Perryman and Emma Brown earned spots on the all-tournament team to lead the No. 14 Milligan University women's golf team to a runner-up finish behind host Tusculum at the Agnes McAmis Memorial Invitational. The event took place Monday and Tuesday at Graysburg Hills Golf Club.
Perryman (75-79/third) and Brown (77-80/fourth) were the first two of all six Buffs who finished in the top 16, including four who finished in the top seven. Gabby Hammond (82-77) had a strong second round to finish sixth, and Meryl Castle (79-81) took seventh.
Jenny Simonsen and Madison Blanton rounded out the Buffs slate.
Milligan opened the tournament with a 310 on day one, only seven strokes back of host Tusculum University. The Buffaloes followed with a 317 on day two to finish 16 strokes off the lead. They were well ahead of third place Carson-Newman who finished 23 strokes behind Milligan.
Up next, Milligan competes this weekend at the Oldfield Intercollegiate, hosted by USC Beaufort, Saturday-Sunday, March 27-28. The event will take place at The Oldfield Club in Bluffton, South Carolina.
