Women’s Cross Country remains No. 2 in NAIA Top 25
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (October 5, 2023) – The Milligan University women’s cross country team was slotted at No. 2 in the second in-season NAIA Women’s Cross Country Top 25 Coaches’ Poll on Thursday.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (October 5, 2023) – The Milligan University women's cross country team was slotted at No. 2 in the second in-season NAIA Women's Cross Country Top 25 Coaches' Poll on Thursday.
The Buffs have been the No. 2 team in the nation in all three sets of national rankings with defending national champion Taylor retaining the top spot. Milligan has appeared in each national top 25 dating back to 2015. The Buffs collected a top-two national ranking for the last 15 polls.
Milligan achieved a perfect team score of 15 at the Eli Cramer Invitational on Sept. 22. Ellen-Mary Kearney set Milligan's three-mile record to win the meet title in 17:34. Caitlin Dominy was the individual runner-up with the second-fastest 3M time in team history at 17:44. The previous three-mile record of 17:59 was held by former four-time national champion and cross country national runner-up Hannah Segrave.
Hannah Brown placed third in 18:04 and Gracie Allen was fifth in 18:16, the fourth and fifth-fastest three-mile times in team history. Zanelle Willemse finished fifth in 18:24.
Milligan travels to Charlotte for the Royals Cross Country Challenge tomorrow.
