Ellen Mary Kearney collects AAC Runner of the Week honors

WALESKA, Ga. (September 4, 2023) – Milligan University sophomore Ellen Mary Kearney has been picked as the Appalachian Athletic Conference Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for her effort at the Firetower Project Run on Friday evening.

WALESKA, Ga. (September 4, 2023) – Milligan University sophomore Ellen Mary Kearney has been picked as the Appalachian Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for her effort at the Firetower Project Run on Friday evening.

Kearney led the No. 2 Buffs to a third-place finish at Appalachian State behind NCAA Division I Florida State and host App State. Kearney finished third overall and was the top non-Division I runner to cross the finish. She clocked in with a 5k time of 17:48.

Teammate Caitlin Dominy joined Kearney in the top five as she finished fourth in 17:57. Hannah Brown took 17th (18:41) in her Milligan debut.

The Buffs return to action next week at Virginia Tech's Alumni Invitational.
