Ellen Mary Kearney selected as AAC Runner of the Week

WALESKA, Ga. (September 26, 2022) – Milligan University freshman Ellen Mary Kearney was tabbed as the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Runner of the Week after debuting for No. 1 Buffs at the Queen City Invite on Friday evening.

Kearney was the individual runner-up in the women's 5k invitational at McAlpine Creek Park with a time of 17:36. She jumps into Milligan's all-time cross country 5k leaderboard in the No. 4 spot.

Alyssa Bearzi (17:57), Caitlin Dominy (18:03) and Lizzy Lucason (18:18) finished fifth, eighth and 11th in the 144-woman field as the Buffs ran away with the meet title with a team score of 29. Milligan finished ahead of two NCAA Division II teams and three regionally-ranked DII squads.

Milligan's team time of 90:38 was the fastest 5k team time in the NAIA this fall.

The Buffs host the Eli Cramer Invitational on the campus of Milligan on Friday evening.
