Buffaloes Volleyball Tops Johnson for Fourth Straight Triumph
MILLIGAN, Tenn. – The Milligan University volleyball team completed the final game of their three-match home streak with a win, making it four wins in a row. The Buffaloes staged off a late run by Johnson University at Steve Lacy Fieldhouse, besting the Royals in four sets. (25-15, 19-25, 25-13, 25-21).
The Buffs and Royals traded the opening two sets with the Buffs imposing their will in the first set and setting the tone early. Milligan cruised to a 25-15 victory to open the bout.
The second set was more of a back-and-forth affair with the Royals able to gain control late and win the set 25-19.
The third set was never in doubt as the Buffs dominated from start to finish and ultimately emerged victorious, 25-13.
The fourth and final set was dominated early by Milligan jumping out to a 12-3 lead before Johnson battled back to make it 23-20, before the Buffs closed it out to take the win 25-21.
Shelby Miller supplied a team-best 19 kills on a .395 attacking clip, while Ella Maiden had 12 kills, converting at .355 percentage. Kolbie Greene added another 40 assist night, this time with 44, continuing her great play for the Buffs.
Zoie Larkins' led the team with 30 digs making it back-to-back games as the leader for the Buffs. Sierra Still and Greene each added 13 digs for the Buffs in the key AAC victory.
The Buffs are back in action with an away trip to Bryan in Dayton, Tenn., which is slated for Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 6:30pm.
