Volleyball takes down Montreat 3-0

MILLIGAN, Tenn. (October 14, 2023) – The Milligan University volleyball team won its seven-straight game with a 3-0 victory over Montreat in the Steve Lacy Fieldhouse on Saturday morning.

The Buffs move to 18-6 on the season and 12-2 in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) league play. The win marks Milligan's ninth AAC sweep of the season. Montreat falls to 8-9, 5-9 AAC.

Milligan never trailed in the first set as the Buffs went ahead 1-0 with a 25-19 opening set victory. A 7-1 spurt in the second set gave the Buffs a 17-11 advantage as Milligan held off Montreat the rest of the way for a 25-21 win.

The Buffs used a 12-2 run in the middle of the third set to clinch the match with a 25-20 set three score.

Taylor Pavich led Milligan with 10 kills and a .346 hitting percentage. Ella Maiden had nine kills and three total blocks. Four other players had at least three kills in the match.

Kolbie Greene notched 27 assists, two kills and tow blocks. Zoie Larkins set a season high with 21 digs.

The Buffs travel to Bluefield on Tuesday.
