Volleyball wins third straight at Tennessee Wesleyan
Carley Gregory and Sarah Grace Larkey posted team highs of 10 kills, and the Milligan University women’s volleyball team defeated Tennessee Wesleyan University in four sets, 12-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-18, Tuesday night on the road.
ATHENS, Tenn. (Oct. 20, 2020) – Carley Gregory and Sarah Grace Larkey posted team highs of 10 kills, and the Milligan University women's volleyball team defeated Tennessee Wesleyan University in four sets, 12-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-18, Tuesday night on the road.
Milligan won for the third straight time while completing the season sweep of the Bulldogs, having won also in four sets when these two teams met earlier this season. The win improved the Buffaloes to 6-4 as they eclipsed the midpoint of the season with Tuesday's match.
Gregory and Larkey were the first of 10 Buffs to register at least one kill in the win. Julia Codispoti followed with eight kills while Taylor Pavich and Sydney Hurd posted 16 assists and 14 assists, respectively. Layla Grant led the defensive effort with 15 digs.
Milligan started the match slow, losing the opening frame 25-12, but bounced back to defeat the Bulldogs in each of the next three. It snapped a three-match winning streak for Tennessee Wesleyan.
Up next, Milligan heads to Union on Thursday, Oct. 22, before returning to Steve Lacy Fieldhouse for their last three matches of October.
