Buffs fall to Bryan at home

MILLIGAN, Tenn. (Sept. 24, 2020) – Julia Codispoti led the way with nine kills alongside only three attack errors, but the Milligan University women's volleyball team fell in three sets, 25-20, 25-15, 25-21, to visiting Bryan Thursday night at Steve Lacy Fieldhouse.
The loss brought Milligan's record to 2-2 on the season, as the Buffs sandwiched a pair of 3-1 victories with a pair of 3-0 defeats to start the season. Codispoti was one of eight Buffs to enter the kill column, followed by Carley Gregory (seven) and Elise Gregory (five). Sydney Hurd tallied 20 assists and nine digs, and Layla Grant led the defense with 15 digs.
The Lions, who entered the match even with Milligan at 2-1 on the season, used a 12-3 run to close the first set with momentum that would carry them the rest of the way. Bryan then used a 13-5 run to close the second set, and an 8-4 run to close the final set.
Up next, Milligan competes again inside Steve Lacy Fieldhouse on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 11 a.m. The Buffs will face Appalachian Athletic Conference member Union, who has started the season 4-0. The match can be viewed online at milliganbuffs.com.
