Dockery and Geren earn All-Region honors
After a successful season of leading the Milligan College volleyball team back to the national championship opening round, Julie Dockery and Kellee Geren were named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association Northeast All-Region Team with Geren also being named Region Player of the Year.
MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Dec. 5, 2019) – After a successful season of leading the Milligan College volleyball team back to the national championship opening round, Julie Dockery and Kellee Geren were named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association Northeast All-Region Team with Geren also being named Region Player of the Year.
This is Geren's third time in her career being named to the All-Region team and her first time being named Player of the Year. This is Dockery's first time getting honored with this award.
Geren was named the 2019 Appalachian Athletic Conference Player of the Year and Setter of the Year. Geren led the league in assists with 1,316 on the season and averaged 10 per set. Geren also set a new school record for career sets with 4,902. She finished her senior campaign with 371 digs, 27 service aces and 75 kills.
Dockery received first team All-AAC honors for the second season in a row. Dockery finished her season with 292 kills and a hitting percentage of .346.
Dockery and Geren helped guide the Buffs to a 24-11 overall record, winning the AAC North Division and qualifying for the national championship opening round for the second year in a row.
