Milligan drops both matches on day two of IU East tournament
Milligan College volleyball faced St. Francis University and Indiana University East on Saturday in the second day of the IU East Red Wolf Invitational and was defeated in both matches.

RICHMOND, Ind. (Sept. 21, 2019) – Milligan College volleyball faced St. Francis University and Indiana University East on Saturday in the second day of the IU East Red Wolf Invitational and was defeated in both matches.
First match recap
St. Francis defeated Milligan in three sets (19-25, 13-25, 15-25). St. Francis outkilled Milligan 47 to 22 and had an attack percentage of .301 compared to the Buffs .060. Milligan was led by senior Kellee Geren who recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 17 assists and 15 digs.
St. Francis went on a 14-1 run to defeat the Buffs in the first set. The Saints had three service aces during the run, and nine kills.
Milligan jumped out early in the second set and battled it out until the score was 17-16. St. Francis then went on an 8-2 run and won the set.
The third set was all St. Francis as they took the lead from the beginning and only gave it up once. The Saints outkilled the Buffs in the third set 15 to six.
Second match recap
For the second time this season Milligan faced IU East and was defeated in three sets (12-25, 18-25, 22-25). The Red Wolves outkilled the Buffs 47 to 29, and had 11 aces while Milligan had zero.
Geren nearly clutched her second double-double on the day as she recorded 23 assists and nine digs. Carley Gregory led the offense with nine kills, and Layla Grant led the defense with 12 digs.
Geren was named to the all-tournament team as she finished the tournament with 119 assists and 12 kills.
