Kearney Earns AAC Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week Honors via Raleigh Relays 1500m
WALESKA, Ga. - On Monday, the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) revealed their Women's Track Athlete of the Week, which was Milligan University's own Ellen-Mary Kearney. She earned the award for her unbelieveable output at the Raleigh Relays over the weekend of Mar. 27-29.
Kearney ran the top time in the NAIA so far this year in both the 800m and the 1500m. In the latter event, she posted an "A" standard, Milligan record mark of 4:21.46. That broke the long-time record of Milligan legend Hannah Segrave at 4:21.80. Kearney now has the No. 10 time in NAIA history in the event. Her 800m run of 2:12.07 in the women's race missed an "A" standard by just 0:00.07. She also has the fastest time this season in the 800m in the NAIA.
