Women's Track & Field place third at AAC Championships; Dominy named Track Athlete of the Year
COLUMBIA, S.C. (April 20, 2024) - Milligan University women's track & field finished third at the 2024 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship Meet while senior Caitlin Dominy brought home Track Athlete of the Year honors.
COLUMBIA, S.C. (April 20, 2024) - Milligan University women's track & field finished third at the 2024 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship Meet while senior Caitlin Dominy brought home Track Athlete of the Year honors.
The three-day event was hosted by Columbia International in Columbia, S.C.
Milligan nearly missed placing second as Montreat edged it by one point. Columbia International won the title with 191 points, while Montreat posted 139.5 points and Milligan 138.5.
Dominy set the meet record in the 10,000 while also winning three other individual titles. She won the 10,000 in 37:11.64 and claimed titles in the 1500 (4:36.46), 5000 (18:04.95), and 800 (2:17.15).
Ellen-Mary Kearney was the only other Buff to win an individual championship as she took gold in the 3000 steeplechase. She won the event with a time of 11:39.28.
Milligan also won the 4x800 relay with a time of 9:43.93. The team consisted of McKenzie Fitzgerald, Ashlyn Haas, Rachel Dulaney, and Hope Krell.

- Triple Jump - Hannah Manns, sixth - 10.87 meters
- 5000 - Haas, fourth - 19:39.40; Fitzgerald, fifth - 19:40.41; Fellers, seventh - 18:52.32; Barrera, eighth - 18:58.52
- 800 - Christian, second - 2:20.56; Krell, fifth - 2:21.64
- 4x400 Relay - sixth - 4:21.25
Individuals who place in the top three of an event earn All-AAC honors.
Milligan will next compete at the Lee Last Chance Meet on May 10 in Cleveland, Tenn.
