Track & Field collects NAIA Top Times, personal bests at Tennessee Invite

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (April 7, 2024) - It was a successful trip to the Tennessee Invite as the Milligan University men's and women's track & field teams collected three top times in the NAIA, nine top-10 finishes, and 12 personal bests.

The two-day event was hosted by the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn.

Bryn Woodall posted the third-fastest time in the NAIA in the 1500 as he placed third in the event. He crossed the line with a time of 3:48.15, finishing behind a pair of NCAA Division I runners. In the 800, he claimed seventh with a personal best time of 1:52.97, which is the 13th-fastest time in the NAIA.

Caitlin Dominy scored the ninth-fastest time in the 1500 with a time of 4:35.20 as she finished ninth in the event. She followed that with the 14th-fastest time in the NAIA in the 800, logging a personal best time of 2:17.69.

Romario Taylor raced to the eighth-best time in the 400 in the NAIA as he crossed the line third in 47.49 seconds.

Woodall hit an NAIA 'A' Standard in the 1500, while Dominy earned an 'A' Standard in the 1500. Taylor collected an 'A' Standard in the 400.

Here are the other top 10 finishes from the meet:

• Keith Fletcher - men's 110 hurdles, fifth (14.57) - No. 12 time in the NAIA;
• Men's 4x100 relay team (Hunter Crook, Jeremy Evans, Evan Hayes, Ja'Quan Williams) - sixth (42.37)
• Skylan Stephens - men's 100, ninth (10.84);
• Corey Greeson - men's discus, 10th (43.95 meters);
• Alex Brittain - men's 3000 steeplechase, 10th (9:40.18) - No. 13 time in the NAIA

Joining Woodall and Dominy in recording a personal best time are:

• Megan Christian - women's 400 (59.72);
• Hope Krell - women's 800 (2:23.33);
• McKenzie Fritzgerald - women's 800 (2:23.01), and women's 1500 (4:55.36);
• Ashlyn Haas - women's 5000 (18:00.01);
• Anna Jones - women's 5000 (18:24.81);
• Stephens - men's 100 (10.84);
• Crook - men's 100 (11.01);
• Evans - men's 400 (52.25);
• Sylas Chambers - men's 1500 (3:59.43)

Milligan will participate in a pair of meets on Saturday. Some of the Buffaloes will race at the UNC Asheville Bulldog Invite in Asheville, N.C., while others will be at the Scots Invitational in Maryville, Tenn.
