Ellen Mary Kearney and Will Stockley secure All-American honors to close NAIA National Championships
MARION, Ind. (May 26, 2023) – Ellen Mary Kearney and Will Stockley both earned All-American honors on the final day of the NAIA National Championships at Indiana Wesleyan on Friday.
MARION, Ind. (May 26, 2023) – Ellen Mary Kearney and Will Stockley both earned All-American honors on the final day of the NAIA National Championships at Indiana Wesleyan on Friday.
Kearney earned All-America honors in the women's 1500. The freshman clocked in at 4:35.70 to finish eighth and collect her fourth All-America honor of the year. She became the second woman in program history to earn All-American status during the cross country, indoor and outdoor track seasons, following in the footsteps of all-time Buff great Hannah Segrave.
Stockley joined Aaron Jones and Segrave as the only student-athletes in program history to sweep All-America honors in cross country, indoor and outdoor track as he ran to a sixth-place finish in the 5k in 14:42.53.
Jones placed 12th in the 5k in 15:02.04 after earning All-America honors in the 10k on Wednesday. Bryn Woodall was 13th in the 5k in 15:06.92.
Alyssa Bearzi led the Buffs with an 11th-place finish in the women's 5k in 17:42.23. Caitlin Dominy followed in 14th in 18:04.51.
Milligan finished 36th in the men's standings and 61st in the women's standings. The Buffs set a pair of program records at the NAIA National Championships as Jones set Milligan's 10k mark (30:22.15) and Milligan's men's 4x800 relay ran 7:37.10 in the prelims.
