Woodall and Kearney repeat as AAC Track Athletes of the Week
WALESKA, Ga. (January 30, 2023) – Milligan University runners Bryn Woodall and Ellen Mary Kearney repeated as Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Indoor Track Athletes of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
WALESKA, Ga. (January 30, 2023) – Milligan University runners Bryn Woodall and Ellen Mary Kearney repeated as Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Indoor Track Athletes of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Woodall and Kearney both added to their impressive indoor seasons with an individual NAIA "A" standard and key contributions to school record distance medley relays at the VMI Winter Classic.
Woodall notched his fourth automatic national qualifying time in as many events as he bested a 52-man field to win the mile in 4:10.37. His time ranks third nationally, giving him four top-three national marks, including national No. 1 times in the 1k and 3k.
In the DMR, Woodall anchored the Buffs' school record relay alongside Will Stockley, Ja'Quan Williams and Sylas Chambers. The quartet won the meet title with the national No. 1 time of 10:02.94.
Kearney notched her third NAIA "A" standard and fourth individual national qualifying event as she won the 800 at VMI in 2:13.85. She ranks third nationally in the 800 and 3k this season.
Kearney ran the third leg on Milligan's DMR with Caitlin Dominy, Megan Christian and Alyssa Bearzi. The Buffs' time of 11:57.88 set Milligan's program record and also is the fastest time in the NAIA this winter.
Milligan indoor track & field continues its season this weekend with meets at the JDL Fast Track and VMI.
