Burton, Ndune and Stockley collect AAC weekly track & field honors
ASHEVILLE, N.C. (January 18, 2022) – Milligan University student-athletes Avery DeWolf Burton, Jemimah Ndune and Will Stockley were honored as Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) weekly track and field award winners on Tuesday.
ASHEVILLE, N.C. (January 18, 2022) – Milligan University student-athletes Avery DeWolf Burton, Jemimah Ndune and Will Stockley were honored as Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) weekly track and field award winners on Tuesday.
Burton was tabbed as the AAC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week after she logged a first place showing, NAIA "A" standard and the No. 6 time nationally in the 3k (10:11.67) at the ETSU Invitational.
Ndune secured AAC Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week honors with a career best long jump of 4.96 meters at ETSU. Her leap ranks No. 1 in the AAC so far this season.
Stockley posted a pair of NAIA-qualifying and national top-10 times at ETSU. He logged an NAIA "A" standard in the mile with a 4:13.33 effort, the No. 3 time nationally in 2021-22. He added a national qualifying time of 1:55.01 in the 800, the ninth-fastest time in the NAIA this season.
Milligan's indoor track and field squad return to action at the Finn Pincus Invitational this weekend.
