Milligan Women's Tennis Shuts Down Montreat in AAC Quarterfinals
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Milligan University women's tennis team began their 2025 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Tournament journey with a Quarterfinal matchup against the Montreat College Cavaliers. The No. 4 vs. No. 5 matchup went the way of the stronger-ranked Buffaloes, by a final of 4-0.
Milligan and the Cavs split the two doubles matches that were played, as Lauren Wimmer and Lee Anne Endler notched a 7-5 triumph in the No. 2 doubles competition. The No. 3 match was defaulted by Montreat, as Tiana Shelton and Trinity Fox earned a free win to clinch the doubles point.
In singles, Marta Miralles was never tested in the No. 2 singles matchup, winning the battle by a 6-0, 6-2 final tally. The two other points for the Buffs in singles came via forfeitures by the Cavs, as Fox and Laurel Rich took the No. 5 and No. 6 matches in that fashion.
Now, the Buffaloes will face off with the top seed in the tourney, the No. 7-ranked Tennessee Wesleyan University Bulldogs. That match will begin at 2 p.m. at the Champions Club in Chattanooga.
