Milligan Women's Tennis Falls to Lees-McRae in Spring Opener

MILLIGAN, Tenn. - On Monday, the Milligan University women's tennis squad played host to the Lees-McRae Bobcats at the Mathes Tennis Center. It was a tough opening matchup of the 2025 spring, as the Buffaloes fell 7-0 to the NCAA Division II foe.

In doubles, the Bobcats earned the point with wins on all three courts. Milligan's pairing of Lee Ann Endler and Marta Miralles had a 4-3 lead, but they dropped the last three games to fall 6-4. Then, the No. 2 doubles pairing of Sophie Dunman and Tiana Shelton fell 6-3 to their opponents, while Lauren Wimmer and Trinity Fox dropped their contest 6-0.

Endler battled admirably in her singles battle against the No. 1 player for LMC, as she dropped the only three-set bout of the afternoon by a score of 6-3, 4-6, 6-2. Miralles lost in two sets on court two, falling 6-4, 7-6 (3), and Wimmer fell 6-2, 6-3 on court three. Dunman dropped her battle 6-1, 6-3, while Shelton and Fox fell 6-1, 6-1 and 6-2, 6-1, respectively.

Milligan will return to the court on Feb. 7 at 10 a.m. ET against Middle Georgia State in Mobile, Ala. at the Tri-Conference Challenge.
