Women's Tennis goes down swinging at AAC Tournament
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - (April 11, 2024) - Milligan University women's tennis put up a valiant effort but fell 4-0 to No. 3 seed Reinhardt University (Ga.) in the 2024 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Tournament on Thursday.
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - (April 11, 2024) - Milligan University women's tennis put up a valiant effort but fell 4-0 to No. 3 seed Reinhardt University (Ga.) in the 2024 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Tournament on Thursday.
The AAC Tournament is being played in Chattanooga, Tenn. Due to the weather, the women's matches were moved indoors at the Baylor School.
The Buffaloes entered the tournament as the No. 6 seed.
Reinhardt took the early advantage by winning the doubles point, posting identical 6-1 wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles.
Milligan dropped the No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 singles matches, but the team did not go down without a fight.
At No. 2 singles, Marta Mairalles nearly took the first set but came up short in the 7-5, 6-1 match.
Macy Kennedy battled hard but fell 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. Sophie Dunman went down 6-2 in the first set at No. 4 singles, yet she continued to fight. However, she dropped the second set 7-5.
No. 1 singles, Kylie Enarson lost the opening set 6-3 but was tied at 4-all in the second when the match ended.
Milligan ends the season with a 9-11 overall record.
