Stephen Gilbert and Gabby MacPherson honored as AAC Swimmers of the Week
ASHEVILLE, N.C. (November 15, 2021) – Milligan University sophomores Stephen Gilbert and Gabby MacPherson were named Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Swimmers of the Week after strong performances against Lynchburg and Roanoke over the weekend, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.

Gilbert earns his fourth career AAC Swimmer of the Week nod while MacPherson collects her third.
Swimming at Liberty University, the Buffs turned in another exceptional team outing with four school record, five NAIA "A" cuts and 19 provisional times in Milligan's final pre-midseason meet tune-up.
Gilbert recorded an NAIA "A" cut and school record in the 200 freestyle at 1:39.85. He recorded a pair of provisional times and first place finishes in the 100 free (46.70) and 400 IM (4:08.82). All three of his individual swims ranked top three nationally and his 200 free was the second-fastest in the NAIA this season.
Gilbert teamed with Wiktor Perkowski, Aubin Dulin and Andre Bazzana to notch an "A" cut in the 400 medley relay (3:29.66) and combined with Ben Hawkins, Bazzana and Perkowski to secure another "A" cut and program record in the 400 free relay (3:08.48).
MacPherson won the 100 fly (1:00.48) and 200 fly (2:10.38) with NAIA provisional times. She also helped Milligan's relay squads to a pair of NAIA "A" cuts. She swam with Maggie Blazo, Bre Coley and Liz Mahan in the 400 medley relay (4:05.62) and with Mahan, Tyler Cates and Blazo in the 400 free relay (3:42.69).
Milligan's nationally-ranked swim teams head to Charlotte for the Fall Frenzy Invitational next weekend for their final meet of the fall semester.
