CLEVELAND, Ga. – The No. 4 seed Milligan University women's soccer team traveled to Georgia to face No.1 seed Truett-McConnell in the AAC Semifinal round on Tuesday night. The Buffs would fall short against the host Bears by a score of 5-0.
The match started with the Buffs able to hold the hosts early with goalkeeper Akyla Walcott making four saves in the first half to keep the Buffs close. They would go into the half down 2-0.
The hosts would impose their will in the second half and were able to pull away from the Buffs, taking the victory by a score of 5-0.
Senior Akyla Walcott made nine saves in what was more than likely her final appearance for Milligan.
The Buffs 2024 season now hangs in the balance. Milligan waits on the NAIA National Tournament selection show, which will take place on Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. Even if their season is over, the Buffaloes can keep their heads held high after a top-four finish in the conference and their first trip to the conference Semifinal since 2019.
