Newbery Presents 2024 Buffs Women's Soccer Schedule
MILLIGAN, Tenn. – The Milligan University women's soccer program, led by head coach John Newbery, has released their schedule for the 2024 campaign. Following a season in which marked improvement was achieved, in the form of five more victories, the squad looks forward to what is ahead on their 2024 slate.

The third year of the Newbery era at Milligan kicks off with an exhibition match on the road at NCAA Division II Lincoln Memorial University on August 17 at 11 a.m. Following the tune-up bout, they will host the Phoenix of Cumberland University (Tenn.) at 3 p.m. on August 24. Then, a road non-conference battle with the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) will occur on August 28 at 7 p.m. On the first day of September, the Buffs will travel to take on Dalton State College (Ga.) at 1 p.m., before heading back home to host WVU Tech (W.Va.) on September 7 at 2 p.m.
Milligan will start their Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) slate with a battle at Truett-McConnell University (Ga.) on September 11 at 5 p.m., and the first home AAC match will come next, as Columbia International University (S.C.) comes to town on September 14 at 2 p.m. The Buffaloes return to the road after their home opener, as they face Bryan College (Tenn.) on September 18 at 5 p.m. They will then have Columbia College (S.C.) at Anglin Field on September 21 at 4 p.m. September will finish with an away tilt at Bluefield University (Va.) on the 25th at 5 p.m., and a ruckus at home against nearby Johnson University (Tenn.) on the 28th at 2 p.m.
October will commence with a road brawl at St. Andrews University (N.C.) on the 2nd at 2:30 p.m. The squad will then play three straight matches from the comforts of home, as they will face off with Reinhardt University (Ga.) on October 5 at 2 p.m., followed by a meeting with Kentucky Christian University on October 8 at 5 p.m. Finally, Montreat College (N.C.) comes to Milligan on October 12 at 3 p.m. Back-to-back road matches are to follow, as Tennessee Wesleyan plays host to the Buffs on October 19 at 4 p.m., then Union Commonwealth University (Ky.) hosts Milligan on October 23 at 5 p.m. The final match of the 2024 regular season will be at home against the University of Pikeville (Ky.) at 3 p.m.
The AAC Tournament will take place at the home site of the higher-seeded program in each matchup. The top eight conference programs earn a spot in the tourney, with exact dates for the competitions still to be announced. After winning their first match of the AAC Tournament in 2023 against Pikeville, the Buffs fell in the Quarterfinal round to an eventual national qualifier, Tennessee Wesleyan. This season, they will be looking to reach greater heights on a postseason run.
The NAIA First & Second Round portion of the Women's Soccer National Championship will take place at campus sites from November 21-23, with the 16 bracket victors heading to the final site at Ashton Brosnaham Soccer Complex in Pensacola, Fla. from December 2-9.
As the Buffs march toward their goal of competing for a championship on the national stage, there are many reasons to look forward to the 2024 campaign.
