Women’s Soccer falls to Eastern Oregon in season opener
MILLIGAN, Tenn. (August 25, 2023) – The Milligan University women’s soccer team was defeated by Eastern Oregon 3-1 in the Buffs’ season-opening game at Anglin Field on Friday.

MILLIGAN, Tenn. (August 25, 2023) – The Milligan University women's soccer team was defeated by Eastern Oregon 3-1 in the Buffs' season-opening game at Anglin Field on Friday.
The Buffs fall to 0-1 on the year while Eastern Oregon moves to 1-0.
After a quiet opening 15 minutes, the Mountaineers tallied a pair of goals in the 16th and 18th minutes and carried a 2-0 advantage into halftime. The visitors tacked on a third goal in the 52nd minute to lead 3-0.
Milligan struck back with the Buffs' first goal of the season as Emma True blasted a free kick into the penalty area. The ball careened off Natalie Roper's back and into the bottom left corner of the goal. Neither team scored the rest of the way as EOR emerged with the two-goal triumph.
Roper led Milligan with three of the Buffs' six shots on the day. Akyla Walcott made five saves in her Milligan debut.
The Buffs host Rio Grande next Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Anglin Field.
