Five Women’s Soccer student-athletes collect Academic All-District honors
MILLIGAN, Tenn. (November 15, 2022) – The Milligan University women’s soccer team had six student-athletes collected Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators on Tuesday.
MILLIGAN, Tenn. (November 15, 2022) – The Milligan University women's soccer team had six student-athletes collected Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators on Tuesday.
Graduate midfielder Alex Thomas, senior forward Audra Morgan, senior midfielder Taylor Dawson, junior defender Makenna Oiler and senior defender Hannah Chatterton each collected All-Academic laurels for the first time in their career.
Thomas, a team captain and five-year starter, earned her undergraduate degree in psychology in spring 2022 and is pursuing a master of science in counseling at Milligan. She appeared in 78 games for the Buffs in her career and recorded five goals and seven assists. Thomas posted an undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.76 and a graduate GPA of 3.97.
Morgan is an elementary education major with a 3.76 cumulative GPA. She served as a key offensive contributor off the bench throughout her career with the Buffs. She totaled 15 career goals, including a hat trick against Bluefield this season.
Dawson is a four-year starter with 61 career starts and a business administration major. She owns a 3.83 cumulative GPA. In 2022, she moved from center back to midfield and recorded a career high four points with one goal and two assists.
Chatterton has a 3.72 GPA as an exercise science major with a mathematics minor. A four-year starter, she set a career high with three assists this season.
Oiler, a biology major with a 3.62 GPA, started 15 games at right back for the Buffs this season. She has accumulated 29 starts and two assists as a member of the Milligan backline over the past two seasons.
The Buffs reached the quarterfinal round of the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament this fall.
