Reinhardt extends its winning streak to a dozen games and moves to 12-2 on the season and 12-0 in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play. After more than 40 minutes of scoreless soccer, Ellie Cachiaras continued her scoring tear as she found the back of the net in the 41st minute to give the Buffs a 1-0 lead. Cachiaras has now scored in four of her last five games and netted seven goals in the last five games.
However, Reinhardt struck back with a pair of goals in the final three minutes of the first half to carry a 2-1 lead into halftime. The Eagles held a 6-2 edge in shots and 4-2 advantage in shots on goal in the fist half.
The Eagles notched another goal in the 50th minute to lead 3-1.
Alex Thomas in the 59th minute and Autumn Daniels in the 67th minute fired shots on frame, but both attempts were denied by Reinhardt keeper Caroline Johnson. Cachiaras hit the crossbar with just under 10 minutes remaining in regulation.
Reinhardt scored in the 82nd minute to extend its advantage to the final score of 4-1.
The Buffs were outshot 11-6 but the margin for shots on goal was just 7-5 in favor of Reinhardt.
