Isabella Cranford honored as AAC Defensive Player of the Week
ASHEVILLE, N.C. (October 18, 2021) – Senior Milligan University center back Isabella Cranford was tabbed as the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
ASHEVILLE, N.C. (October 18, 2021) – Senior Milligan University center back Isabella Cranford was tabbed as the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Cranford helped the Buffs record four points in the AAC standings last week with a 2-2 tie against Bryan and a 1-0 shutout victory at Columbia.
The Buffs posted 159:50 consecutive minutes without allowing a goal over the course of two games last week after surrendering two first-half goals against Bryan. Milligan kept Bryan off the scoreboard for the second half and both overtime periods in Wednesday night's draw.
The Buffs held Columbia to a single shot in Saturday's road win. Milligan became the second team all season to shut out the Koalas, who entered the matchup 7-3 in league play.
The Buffs continue AAC play Wednesday against St. Andrews.
