Women’s Soccer notches first AAC win over Union
MILLIGAN, Tenn. (September 15, 2021) – The Milligan University women’s soccer team earned its first league win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Union at Anglin Field on Wednesday afternoon.

MILLIGAN, Tenn. (September 15, 2021) – The Milligan University women's soccer team earned its first league win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Union at Anglin Field on Wednesday afternoon.
Milligan rises to 2-2 on the season and 1-1 in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play. Union falls to 0-6, 0-2 AAC.
Autumn Daniels gave the Buffs an early advantage in the eighth minute, cashing in on a breakaway opportunity from a lead pass by Ellie Cachiaras.
The Buffs wound up outshooting Union 12-3 (3-0 on goal) in the first half but were not able to add to their 1-0 advantage. Daniels peppered Union's goalkeeper with six shots, three shots on goal and the lone tally of the first half.
Ashlen Burch added to the Buffs' advantage with a goal near the midway point of the second half. She created space at the top of the 18 yard box and fired home her first tally of the season.
Milligan controlled the game throughout, outshooting the Bulldogs 26-9 and holding Union without a shot on goal.
The Buffs continue league play with a trip to Point for a 5:30 p.m. kickoff on Saturday.
