Second half spurt downs Women’s Soccer at Thomas More
CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. (September 4, 2021) – The Milligan University women’s soccer team hung tough for the first half, but a pair of second half goals by Thomas More sunk the Buffs in Kentucky on Saturday afternoon.

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. (September 4, 2021) – The Milligan University women's soccer team hung tough for the first half, but a pair of second half goals by Thomas More delt the Buffs a 2-0 loss in Kentucky on Saturday afternoon.
After a scoreless first half, Thomas More was awarded a penalty kick less than five minutes into the second half. The Saints converted the PK and immediately regained possession and fired in a second goal nine seconds later.
Aside from TMU's two goals in the 50th minute, neither teams was able to find the back of the net the rest of the afternoon.
The Buffs outshot the Saints 7-5 (5-2 SOG) in the first half, but Thomas More outshot the Buffs 6-1 in the second half (5-1 SOG).
Lauren Davies made four saves in 90 minutes for Milligan. Autumn Daniels led the Buffs with three shots, all of which were on target.
The return to Anglin Field Friday to open Appalachian Athletic Conference play against Tennessee Wesleyan at 4:30 p.m.
