MILLIGAN, Tenn. (Nov. 21, 2020) – The Milligan University women's soccer team wrapped up the fall slate with a 2-0 loss at Tennessee Wesleyan Saturday afternoon on the road.
Tennessee Wesleyan scored both its goals late in the first half. The first came in the 33rd minute from Julia Ruiz Vargas, before Chloe Rootes made it 2-0 with a goal in the 43rd minute. A relatively even game otherwise, Tennessee Wesleyan had a slight edge in shots taken at 13-8, including 6-4 on shots on goal.
Ashlen Burch and Audra Morgan accounted for two of the Buffs' shots apiece, while Madison Hodges and Isabella Cranford accounted for one apiece, both on goal.
Milligan goalkeeper Lauren Davies made four saves.
Up next, Milligan will finish the regular season in the spring, with the Appalachian Athletic Conference tournament also to be played in the spring.
