Women’s soccer blanks KCU for third straight shutout
Ellie Cachiaras got the scoring going early, and the Milligan University women’s soccer team did not let up, defeating Kentucky Christian 7-0 Wednesday night at Elizabethton High School.

ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. (Sept. 30, 2020) – Ellie Cachiaras got the scoring going early, and the Milligan University women's soccer team did not let up, defeating Kentucky Christian 7-0 Wednesday night at Elizabethton High School.
The win marked the third straight to open Milligan's season, as the Buffs remained perfect and kept their shutout streak intact. Cachiaras' goal, her second of the season, came in the ninth minute and opened the floodgates for three more goals in the first 36 minutes of play. Audra Morgan scored three goals, and Megan Kent, Danielle Calhoun and Poppy Smith scored one apiece. Calhoun's goal came with assists from Ella Sawa and Kim Henson, while Smith provided assists on two of Milligan's first-half goals.
Milligan kept the ball on their half of the field nearly the entire match, resulting in a 16-0 count on shots on goal.
Up next, Milligan hosts Columbia Saturday at 3 p.m. before hitting the road for two midweek matches next week.
