Milligan falls to reigning AAC Champ
The Milligan College women’s soccer team was the first Appalachian Athletic Conference team this season to score on Truett McConnell Wednesday night, but it was not enough for the Buffs to win as they fell to the Bears 3-1 at Anglin Field.

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Sept. 25, 2019) – The Milligan College women's soccer team was the first Appalachian Athletic Conference team this season to score on Truett McConnell Wednesday night, but it was not enough for the Buffs to win as they fell to the Bears 3-1 at Anglin Field.
Milligan outshot Truett 16 to 10 but the Bears were able to reach the back of the goal on three of the 10 to give them the win. Truett scored two of their goals in the first half by Lydia Williams and Sydney Ziglar who assisted the first goal. Kristin Beasley assisted the second goal and had the third goal of the night for Truett.
Milligan's lone goal came in the 72nd minute by Bekah Cundiff with a goal that scraped the top of the goal right over the Bear's goalie. Cundiff was assisted by Danielle Calhoun who also was a part of the nine Buffs who tried to get a goal. Ashlen Burch had four shots, Alyson McMillan had three, and Dharma Fawbush had two with both being on goal.
Up next the Buffs travel to Montreat for another AAC matchup on Saturday, Sept. 28. The Buffs then play at Columbia on Wednesday, Oct. 2, before returning home Saturday, Oct. 5, to face AAC rival Tennessee Wesleyan.
