No. 15 Ranking Achieved by Milligan Women's Golf in NAIA Coaches' Preseason Top 25
MILLIGAN, Tenn. – On Thursday, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2024 NAIA Women's Golf Coaches' Preseason Top 25. The poll listed the Milligan women's golfers as the No. 15-ranked squad in the nation after finishing 14th as a team in the 2023 NAIA National Championships.
The Buffs were levied a total of 247 points in the rating, and are the second-highest ranked squad in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC). The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each rater rates the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second-place, 28 for third-place and so on through the list. The highest and lowest ratings for each team are removed. The rating is rated by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and unaffiliated groupings. Each conference is represented by one rater.
