Sarah Castle leads Women's Golf to win at Northeast Tennessee Shootout

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 3, 2024) - Sarah Castle paced Milligan women's golf to the team win at the Northeast Tennessee Spring Shootout on Tuesday.

Milligan hosted the two-day event at the Johnson City Country Club.

Castle collected medalist honors as she won the tournament by two strokes. She posted a 7-over 151, edging Katie Hall of Emory and Henry (Va.) and teammate Mallory TeVrucht who tied for second with a 9-over 153.

In all, three Buffaloes earned All-Tournament Team honors. Joining Castle and TeVrucht is Liz Miller, who placed fifth with a 12-over 156.

The other two members of Milligan 'A' also carded top-10 showings as Kate Castle and Gabby Hammond tied for seventh as both shot a 15-over 159.

Milligan 'A' won the event with a 38-over 614, outpacing second-place Emory and Henry by 44 strokes. Milligan 'B' placed seventh with a 126-over 702.

The Buffaloes return to the links on Monday and Tuesday at the Music City Classic, hosted by Cumberland (Tenn.) at the Hermitage Golf Club – General's Retreat in Nashville, Tenn.
