No. 12 Women’s Golf wins TWU Fall Invite by 26 strokes
VONORE, Tenn. (September 18, 2022) – The No. 12 Milligan University women’s golf team won the Tennessee Wesleyan Fall Invitational at the Links of Kahite by 26 strokes on Sunday.
VONORE, Tenn. (September 18, 2022) – The No. 12 Milligan University women's golf team won the Tennessee Wesleyan Fall Invitational at the Links of Kahite by 26 strokes on Sunday.
Milligan posted a 36-hole total of 613 with the lowest two rounds of the tournament (316-297). Tennessee Southern finished second at 639 strokes. Milligan's Sunday total of 297 was a single stroke off the Buffs' single-round team record of 296, set in 2019.
The Buffs had five players finish in the top 11 of the 55-player field.
Alayna Perryman finished as the tournament runner-up by a single stroke with an 36-hole total of 147. She posted the tournament-low round of (-1) 71 on Sunday.
Kate Castle shot even-par (72) on Sunday on her way to a third-place individual finish at 151 strokes to join Perryman on the all-tournament team.
Gabby Hammond tied for seventh with a two-day score of 158 (81-77). Mallory TeVrucht and Sarah Castle tied for 11th at 160 strokes. Hannah Goodwin tied for 25th (170) as all six Buffs finished in the top half of the tournament field.
The Buffs host the East Tennessee Collegiate at the Johnson City Country Club next week.
