No. 13 Women’s Golf in second place through round one of AAC Spring Championship/NAIA Direct Qualifier
ADAIRSVILLE, Ga. (May 2, 2022) – The No. 13 Milligan University women’s golf team sits in second place after round one at the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Spring Championships and NAIA Direct Qualifier at Barnsley Gardens Resort in Georgia.

The Buffs logged a team score of 316 strokes on the par-73 course. No. 21 Truett McConnell leads the team standings with a 305 score and No. 12 SCAD Atlanta sits seven strokes back of the Buffs at 323 strokes. Truett's MinJi Kang, the NAIA's top player nationally leads the field with a five-under 68 in round one.
Meryl Castle leads the charge for the Buffs as she sits in third place with a round one 75. She notched three birdies and 12 pars in her opening round.
Alayna Perryman is tied for sixth after 18 holes with a 78. Kate Castle follows tied for 13th at 81 strokes.
Gabby Hammond is tied for 17th (84) and Sarah Castle made it five Buffs in the top half of the 49-player field with a round one 84, good for 23rd.
The AAC Spring Championship/NAIA Direct Qualifier concludes tomorrow.
