Alayna Perryman earns medalist honors as No. 13 Women’s Golf wins Mountain Empire Intercollegiate
ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. (April 12, 2022) – Alayna Perryman fired a day two 75 to capture medalist honors as the No. 13 Milligan University women’s golf team captured the Mountain Empire Intercollegiate team title by 48 strokes on Tuesday.
ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. (April 12, 2022) – Alayna Perryman fired a day two 75 to capture medalist honors as the No. 13 Milligan University women's golf team captured the Mountain Empire Intercollegiate team title by 48 strokes on Tuesday.
Milligan posted a tournament-low round of 310 on Tuesday to finish with 622 total strokes. The next best finishes was Point, who jumped two spots in the standings to finish second at 670.
Alayna Perryman captured her second medalist honor of the season and the third of her career as she recorded the top round two score of 75 to win the 48-golfer tournament with 153 strokes.
Kate Castle and Sarah Castle both reeled in all-tournament honors with top-five finishes. The sisters tied for third with Point's Ana Aldana at 157 strokes. Kate Castle shot 80-77 while Sarah Castle went 77-80.
Gabby Hammond and Emma Brown both notched top-10 finishes. Hammond carded a two-day total of 159 (77-82) to finish sixth and Brown used a day two 78 to finish ninth at 161 strokes.
Gracie Johns placed 11th as an individual with 165 strokes. Izzy Griggs took 15th with a two-day total of 168.
Milligan women's golf returns to action May 2-3 at the Appalachian Athletic Conference Spring Championship and NAIA Direct Qualifier at the Barnsley Resort in Adairsville, Georgia.
