No. 14 Women’s Golf four strokes out of first place after day one at Griffin Gate
LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 4, 2022) – The No. 14 Milligan University women’s golf team finished the opening round of the Midway University Eagle Invitational at the Griffin Gate Golf Course in second place.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 4, 2022) – The No. 14 Milligan University women's golf team finished the opening round of the Midway University Eagle Invitational at the Griffin Gate Golf Course in second place.
The Buffs posted a team score of 307 on the par-72 course and sit four strokes behind No. 17 Indiana Wesleyan. Milligan is 11 strokes ahead of third-place No. 22 Northwestern Ohio and 22 strokes ahead of (RV) Marian.
Alayna Perryman used four birdies and 11 pars to finish second in the 63-woman field with a two-over 74 in round one.
Sarah Castle found herself in a four-way tie for third place with a 75. Meryl Castle and Kate Castle tied for 11th as the sisters both carded a 79.
Gabby Hammond made it all five Buffs in the top half of the field as she was 31st with an 86.
The Buffs wrap up at the Eagle Invitational at Griffin Gate tomorrow.
