Perryman ties for first as No. 14 Women’s Golf finishes as runner-up at Agnes McAmis Memorial
CHUCKEY, Tenn. (March 22, 2022) – The No. 14 Milligan University women’s golf team posted a second-place showing at the two-day Agnes McAmis Memorial at the Graysburg Hills Golf Club on Tuesday.
CHUCKEY, Tenn. (March 22, 2022) – The No. 14 Milligan University women's golf team posted a second-place showing at the two-day Agnes McAmis Memorial at the Graysburg Hills Golf Club on Tuesday.
The Buffs posted a day two team score of 310 to finish in second overall at 617 strokes. Host Tusculum took the tournament team title with a 604. Both of Milligan's rounds (307, 310) were the two lowest rounds for any team outside of Tusculum at the event.
Alayna Perryman finished in a three-way tie for first place at 146 strokes after carding a 73 in both rounds. Her two round total of 146 is the third-lowest 36-hole score in program history. On Tuesday, Perryman posted 13 pars and two birdies on the day.
Izzy Griggs led Milligan's second group at Tusculum with an all-tournament fifth-place finish at 152 strokes (73-79).
Sarah Castle joined Griggs and Perryman as a top-10 finisher as the freshman took ninth at 155 strokes (76-79). Meryl Castle and Kate Castle posted 79s in both rounds to finish tied for 13th at 158 strokes.
Gabby Hammond and Emma Brown both improved their standing on the final day of the tournament. Hammond shot a 79 to finish 20th at 161 strokes and Brown was 21st one stroke behind.
Gracie Johns finished in the top half of the 47-woman field with a 23rd-place finish.
Milligan returns to action in two weeks at the Eagle Invitational at Griffin Gate.
