No. 13 Women’s Golf places fourth at Skyhawk Spring Invitational
PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. (March 8, 2022) – The No. 13 Milligan University women’s golf team posted a fourth-place finish at the Skyhawk Spring Invitational at Callaway Gardens on Tuesday.
PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. (March 8, 2022) – The No. 13 Milligan University women's golf team posted a fourth-place finish at the Skyhawk Spring Invitational at Callaway Gardens on Tuesday.
Milligan posted a 36-hole team score of 621 (311-313) to finish three strokes back of No. 16 SCAD Atlanta and (RV) Truett McConnell. No. 9 Southeastern claimed the top score of the event with a two-day total of 589. Milligan finished 30 strokes ahead of fifth-place No. 11 Indiana Wesleyan.
Alayna Perryman led the Buffs in the 68-golfer field with an all-tournament finish. Perryman recorded a round two 75 to finish with a tournament score of 148 to tie for fifth.
Meryl Castle joined Perryman with a top-10 showing at Callaway Gardens. She posted a 36-hole total of 153 (75-78) to finish tied for seventh.
Kate Castle climbed five spots on the individual leader board with a round two 78 to finish 14th with a two-day total of 158.
Gabby Hammond improved by four strokes on day two to finish 33rd at 168 strokes. Emma Brown was stroke behind in 34th place.
Women's golf returns to action in two weeks at the Agnes McAmis Memorial, hosted by Tusculum at the Graysburg Hills Golf Club.
