No. 13 Women’s Golf tied for third after day one at Callaway Gardens

PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. (March 7, 2022) – The No. 13 Milligan University women's golf team opened its spring schedule at the Skyhawk Spring Invitational at Callaway Garden's Lake View course on Monday. After 18 holes, Milligan is tied for third in the team leaderboard with No. 16 SCAD Atlanta.

In their first official round since October, the Buffs recorded a team score of 311 on Monday. No. 9 Southeastern leads the 12-team field at 292 strokes, followed by (RV) Truett McConnell at 303.

Alayna Perryman led the way for the Buffs with a plus-three 73. She closed the day with eight pars and three birdies over her final 11 holes to rank fourth on the individual leaderboard.

Meryl Castle joined Perryman in the top 10 as she posted her best round of the season (75) to tie for sixth.

Kate Castle posted an 80 to tie for 19th. Emma Brown is 27th after carding an 83 and Gabby Hammond sits in 43rd.

The Buffs close out the Skyhawk Spring Invitational at Callaway Gardens tomorrow.
