MILLIGAN, Tenn. (Nov. 2, 2020) – Milligan University golfer Michaela Lindahl's all-tournament finish at the Jekyll Island Intercollegiate/Coastal Georgia Invitational helped her win Appalachian Athletic Conference weekly honors for the third time this season and fourth time in her career. The AAC made the announcement Monday afternoon for the week ending Nov. 1.
Lindahl led the No. 24 Buffs with a fourth-place finish as last week Milligan claimed the team title over two national top-20 teams, including No. 14 Southeastern. She carded a 76 over the first 18 holes before signing a 74 over the last 18 holes, capping her semester with her second lowest round of the fall season.
Lindahl's 74 also helped her earn a No. 11 national ranking for scoring average (75.71), according to the final Golfstat Relative Ranking system. Milligan ranks No. 8 at 77.85 according to this metric.
In winning the tournament and defeating two national top-20 teams, Lindahl also led the Buffs to a record-breaking performance that saw them set a new record for 36-hole scoring. Milligan's two-day 603 (302-301) edged the previous Milligan 36-hole scoring record of 604, set by the 2015-16 team at Callaway Gardens.
The Jekyll Island/Coastal Georgia event marked the end of the fall season for the Buffs, who next will be in action in the spring. Milligan will take a 16-stroke advantage to the AAC Spring Championship.
