Milligan finishes fifth in first spring tournament
The No. 24 Milligan College women’s golf team started their spring season off at the Skyhawk Invitational in Pine Mountain, Georgia, March 9-10. In a field of 13 teams, the Buffs finished in fifth with an overall score of 635.
PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. (March 10, 2020) – The No. 24 Milligan College women's golf team started their spring season off at the Skyhawk Invitational in Pine Mountain, Georgia, March 9-10. In a field of 13 teams, the Buffs finished in fifth with an overall score of 635.
Day one saw Milligan be led by Jenny Simonsen and Michaela Lindahl who had scores of 75 and 78, respectively. Simonson continued her success into day two and had the highest finish for the Buffs in 11th place with an overall score of 154.
After Simonsen was Lindahl and Emma Brown who tied for 16th. Lindahl shot a 79 on day two for an overall score of 157. Brown shot a 184 on Monday but was only one over par on day two, to move up 15 places in the leaderboard.
Alayna Perryman and Meryl Castle finished in the top 25 with Perryman in 22nd with rounds of 84 and 76 and Castle in 25th with rounds of 83 and 78. Rounding out the Buffs on the leaderboard were Ashley Cauthen (83-79/29th) and Danielle Mirovich (86-89/49th).
Milligan will be back in action right down the road in Greeneville, Tennessee, at the Agnes McAmis Memorial Invitational, hosted by Tusculum. The invitational will be March 23-24.
